Transportation Happenings – November 27, 2017

There were only a few “Transportation Happenings” during the past week. However, you may find the following of interest:
1. ZIM LINES (the Israeli National Steamship Company) which operates independently had a 3rd Quarter 2017 Profit of $25.2 Million. That is quite a significant upturn.
2. Container Traffic was up 8% during the 3rd Quarter of 2017 at all the West Coast Ports from Seattle/Tacoma to LA/LB.
3. CMA/CGM announced that three of their Newbuilding MegaShips (20,000 TEU+) will be LNG powered.
4. The Canadian Government has fined three vessels for exceeding 10 KTS will transitting in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. This “go slow” order is to protect whales.
